A place for me to write.

Only 1 Short Story Left!

Yesterday I completed my 29th story! Woo hoo! Only 1 short story left!

Today I started the 30th story and I have a rough idea of what I want to happen. So it should have been a piece of cake, right? Right?! Well, not so much. I started it and just slowly chugged along. Really slowly. A form of writer’s block brought on by fearing the end, maybe?

If I’m honest, there is a fear for me about the end, but it’s what I’m going to do after. This challenge has been a fun road to travel. I’ve pushed myself and explored more of an artform I love. But I’ve been telling myself that I want to write a novel afterwards. And that’s super intimidating.

‘You got this!’

‘Break it into parts.’

‘You’ve already written over 25,000 words in less than 2 months.’

‘This doesn’t have to be the next great thing. Just write for fun.’

I’ve been telling myself these things and more. In all honesty, I know I can do this with planning, taking things one step at a time, and just allowing myself to rest when I need it.

Today is just that. I am going to let this short go and tomorrow, I’ll write the short.

But I can’t let today go without at least a poem. So here’s a short little bit about my dog.

Enjoy.

There once was a little white dog

Whose snore resembled a hog

She was short and round

And if not for the sound

When she slept, you’d think her a log
